Welcome to Mrs. Chelsea Johnson's 10th Grade World History Class!
Daily Teaching Schedule
On a typical day, we will start our class with a warm-up. The warm-up will consist of one or two questions that pertain to the previous lecture from the day before. I will give my students five minutes to do their warm-up and after time is up, we will go through their answers as a class. After the warm-up, I will take up the students' homework which will be due at the beginning of class everyday. Once all homework is picked up , I will begin my lecture on a particular topic for that day. As I give the lecture, I will ask questions to make sure my students are understanding what is being taught. I will allow my students to ask questions at the end of lecture so that we can get through the whole lesson. After the lecture, I will give the students an assignment that they can work on in class. If they do not finish their assignment, they will need to take it home and work on it. On some days, we will have a quiz or a test in place of the assignment. There will be days that I will allow the students to work on group projects or work on assignments together also. This will allow my students to interact with their classmates and learn to work together as a team. At the end of class, the students will place their assignments in a box labeled with their period number and I will dismiss them when the bell rings.
